Timeline questions come up in every estimate. Here's an honest room-by-room breakdown.
Hardwood Installation
A typical main-floor hardwood installation (800–1,200 sq.ft.) takes 2–3 days: one day for subfloor preparation, acclimation confirmation, and layout; one to two days for installation and transitions. Add 1–2 days if there's significant subfloor work needed.
Tile Installation
Tile is the slowest flooring type because of curing time. A bathroom floor (50–80 sq.ft.) takes 2–3 days with proper grout cure time. A full shower surround takes 3–5 days. We don't accelerate grout curing — it needs adequate time regardless of schedule pressure.
LVP and Laminate
Floating floor installations are the fastest. A main floor of 1,000–1,500 sq.ft. typically takes 1–2 days once the subfloor is prepped. LVP and laminate don't require acclimation time the way hardwood does, which removes a step.
Hardwood Refinishing
Full sand and refinish: 2 days of work plus 24–72 hours of cure time before furniture return. Screen and recoat: 1 day of work plus overnight cure. We give you a specific timeline in the written quote.
